Track 23: Innovation management and product developement
The areas of innovation management and product development are closely related to software and IT systems. First, as any product also software and IT has to be developed. Second, and even more important, software and IT enables the development of physical products and propels the efficiency and effectiveness of new product development. New ways of simulation, integration, communication, production planning, prototyping, production planning etc. have created fascinating new possibilities for innovation management. They allow for improved management processes and permit completely new business models. In this track, we aim for mapping new developments in this area, gaining deeper understanding of the underlying theoretical rationale, and analyzing promising ways of commercial use.
Possible topics:
- Innovative online communities for knowledge management during product development (Open Source Software, Wikis, ...)
- Toolkits for user innovation and design (user integration in product definition process)
- Innovation technologies for idea generation, idea search, and idea management
- Innovation technologies for simulations and virtual prototyping
- Innovation technologies for collaborative and distributed development of products and services
- Interactive value creation and open innovation (new business models)
